The Asset Courier was developed to run in a cloud computing environment, to provide massive storage, processing, and bandwidth capabilities when needed. The Whaledrop Asset Courier was designed to scale up and down to handle diverse loads, and provide redundant, reliable mail processing. The Asset Courier is comprised of multiple SMTP servers receiving and processing email delivery requests, multiple message processors generating and delivering Whaledrop enhanced messages, and multiple secure Web servers managing access and presentation of enhanced messages to recipients. The architecture allows us to deploy dedicated servers, processors, and storage for clients, as well as develop custom applications and integrations with client services. SMTP Services

The SMTP processing performed by Whaledrop is done using the reliable and secure Postfix SMTP server. Email delivery is business critical, and we chose a solution with a proven track record in some of the largest organizations on the planet, rather than start from scratch. Our message processors get email messages from Postfix and apply intelligent rules to generate enhanced messsages, based on size, security settings, quotas, etc. The message processors then send out enhanced messages through our Postfix servers, and ensure each message is delivered to the destination before considering the transaction complete. Throughout the transaction, our message processors log detailed delivery tracking data for the Asset Courier.
